Favorite Wines

I really enjoy wine, red wine especially, and I am always looking for new finds to try.  I am not picky at all and will enjoy a wide variety of wines.  Greg on the other hand is Pinot Noir all the way; although I can get him to enjoy something new every once in a while.

These are just a few of the wines that I enjoy and that are easy on the wallet. Feel free to recommend some of your favorites, as I am always looking for suggestions.

Montes Classic Series
Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

This is a very mild Cab. Greg even loves this wine and he normally won’t touch a Cabernet. A random customer in the store recommended it to us and I am so glad we decided to try it because it has become a favorite.

Running with Scissors
Merlot 2007

I picked a bottle of this up for some friends as a thank you. It was rated as one of the top sellers at the wine store so I figured it had to be halfway decent. Our friend’s gave it a thumbs up, so I bought a bottle for us to try as well.  We enjoyed it too.

Childress Vineyards
Classic Red

We have had the pleasure of visiting this vineyard twice while we were living in North Carolina. Who knew NC had great wine? Apparently the old tobacco soil makes for good grape growing. This is a wonderful table wine and it was our favorite from their selection.

Mark West
Pinot Noir 2007

I saw this recommended on the Nest as a great wine under $15 and knew that I would have to pick a bottle up for Greg. I happened to be in a Fresh Market and see a display for it, so I grabbed a bottle. We tried it on Valentine’s Day and Greg thought it was one of the best Pinots he has ever had. Yay, score one for me!

Louis Latour
Vin Bourgogne
Pinot Noir 2007

I always look out for wines when I am out shopping, especially when we visit Costco. While shopping right before Greg’s birthday a few years ago I decided to pick up a bottle of Pinot Noir for him and this just happened to be the one I chose. We have purchased it a number of times since.

Yellow Tail
Riesling

As I mentioned, I prefer red wine over white. I do enjoy a nice glass of white wine though, especially on a hot summer’s day. This is a really nice and refreshing wine. It can be dangerous because it is slightly sweet and goes down very easy.
